Paragraph- A Fair You Visited
During the last Puja Vacation I visited a village fair. IOt ast in a mango-garden on the outskirts of our vilagte on theu occasiobn of thje Durga Puja. Temporary stalls were set up. They were arranged in rows and those dealing in the same kind of articles clustered together. The shops offered for sale almost all the articles necessary in our day-to-day life as well as those necessary for women's luxury and children's amusement. They were all crowded. Men and women crowded in front of stationery shops, while children gathered around toy-shops. There was a merry-go-round at one corner.
There was hardly a child who did not have a ride on a wooden horse. The main object of attraction to the villagers in general was, however, the circus-shoe. Men, women and children bound when they saw a girl walking on a rope or an elephant sitting on a chair and drinking tea out of a cup. The spectacle of a joker falling down on the ground in his attempt to walk on the rope provided them with great fun. All attended the circus-show. Their wonder knew no - The fair brought the villagers relief from their dull and monotonous life. They forgot for a few days their worries and drank deeply the pleasures of life. The fair was to them, as it were, a shower of rain after the hjopt summer days.
