Paragraph on Self Help
Paragraph on Self Help : Self-help means doing things ourselves without waiting for some one else to do them for us. It is of great importance in human life. "God helps those who help themselves." - so goes the proverb. God has given us strength and intelligence, and wants that we should make full use of them before we look to Him for help. He does not bless a man who depends on others for everything. He even takes such a man to task.
The benefits of self-help are many. It makes a man self-reliant. It gives him the will-power to fight the battles of life single-handed, no matter whether he fails or succeeds. Self-help develops his sense of responsibility, patience and perseverance. It makes him bold. A self reliant man does not feel ashamed to do all his works, however mean, with his own hands. He is not ashamed of cleansing his own rooms or polishing his own shoes. Like Gandhiji, the mighty gain of self-help he does not hesitate to do even the work of a sweeper. Self-help develops self-confidence which helps a man to face new things that come hit way.
Doing a thing himself gives a man pleasure and satisfaction. A man who does all his works himself does not fret or fume when he fails in doing anything. A self-reliant man enjoys that contentment which is passes wealth and "the sages in meditation found."
